Rob Zombie has given a little more insight to the upcoming "HALLOWEEN" project he is now attached to.

Rob said that the film will be a prequel and a reimaging all in one. So for the most part it's a fancy way to say its a fucking remake.

Now do I think Rob is going to do a good job? Of course I do. This guy knows how to make a good horror film. But what I don't like is fucking with another classic. Does Halloween really need a remake??? Bah... as if the remake of Friday The 13th wasn't bad enough news...

"World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War" has just been announced after a "bidding war" between Brad Pitt's PLAN B company in association with Paramount and Leo Decaprio's Appian Way in association with Warner Brothers. Anyway, Brad Pitt won the bid war, and Paramount owns the rights.

The story is based on Max Brooks' (son of comedy legend Mel Brooks) recent novel "The Zombie Survival Guide" which is terribly fiction, but extremely amusing. The movie plot is said to explain a "zombie war" told by surviving soldiers.

I absoutely love zombie flicks, so I'm all for this project. However, I'm really interested to see how much they follow this novel because there isn't any mention of a "zombie war" within its pages. But oh well... should be fun.

Getting in trouble wasn't part of what I made this site for.

A part of this blog was designed to inform people about new music as you all know... I made it so that people could listen to an album & go out & buy it if they liked it. Did all of them? I don't know. I hope some of you liked what was posted here & went out & bought the albums or ordered them. Supporting the artists we like should be a priority for all. So I'm just asking all of you, if you downloaded something from me, please go buy it.

So I bet you're wondering what's going to happen to The Beard?? Well it will still be here, I'm not in really any trouble... I was just asked to remove an album... & instead of risking another scenerio like that again, I decided to remove all my music I had posted. So if you're looking for music, check out some of my links.

My priority from now on will be focusing on Horror News, Reviews, Discussion & Articles. along with personal developements since I, myself am in the movie business.

An actual message board (not the little side board I have posted here now) will be available soon.

OK not really... so don't get that excited, but an "industry professional" created a fake trailer pairing the two magic baddies together. It's very convincing & definitely worth checking out. Reports say that there is NO movie like this in production, but after watching this slick trailer, one must wonder if they're not thinking about it. (Source: Fangoria)

Horror News: Zombie Does Halloween

A couple posts down I told you that Rob Zombie was rumored to be attached to the upcoming Halloween 9 project. Well today it turns out to be the truth, even though on Saturday Zombie completely denied being involved with the project at all. Tricky tricky.

However, the flick is not to be Halloween 9 & it will not be a prequel or a sequel but rather a "re-imaging" of the original flick.

Err... Now I love the idea that Zombie is taking this job, but why mess with the original? Remember what happened when they "re-imaged" Dawn of the Dead in 2004??? Yeah... it didn't hold a candle in the wind next to the original. So I don't exactly know my position on this just yet. I'll make up my mind as more info leaks.

Here is the official synopsis for the upcoming sequel, Wrong Turn 2 which stars rock legend Henry Rollins -

"Dale Murphy is hosting and producing his own reality T.V show called "The Ultimate Survivalist," with six contestants who'll be thrown together for six days in a simulated post-apocalypstic wasteland. Located in a remote part of West Virginia, the contestants discover that they really are fighting for their survival--against a family of hideously deformed inbred cannibals who plan to ruthlessly butcher them all."

Sounds pretty cool... however we all remember the terrible Halloween: Resurrection where they tried to bring in the cencept of reality TV. Hopefully this will be better. I enjoyed the first movie... but I'm really not sure why we really need a sequel to this?

Well it's about time we found out where the good people over at the LIONSGATE were going with the series. And finally... the wait is over.

"Jigsaw has disappeared with his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Doctor Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard. One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), bedridden and on the verge of death. She is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus Macfayden), another of his victims, to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw’s own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that he has a much bigger plan for both of them…"

Well that sounds pretty cool. As a fan of part 1 & 2, I'm anxious to see the third and my hopes are high... especially since this is said to be the final chapter of the SAW saga.

HALLOWEEN 9 RUMORS

If any of you have been following the rumors and the tribulations of what is known as HALLOWEEN 9, you may know that Dante Tomaselli (Satan's Playground) has been actively offering his directorial services to the project, but it seems as though another name has been brought into the circle of rumors as to who will helm H9... who you ask? Rob fucking Zombie. Now this could just be another rumor or it could be fact, I don't really have any solid profound truth... but what I do know is, that after the masterpiece that was "The Devil's Rejects" (and not to take anything away from Tomaselli) ...but to not let Rob lend his magical movie hand to the rather "uncompelling" (what's left of) the Halloween franchise would be like throwing away a magic lottery ticket that promises to be a winner. Rob would not only blow a breath of fresh air all over the series, I don't have a doubt in my mind that he would bring it back to the gritty raw nature that was found in H1 & H2. No more WB, Busta Rhymes bullshit. If this is truth, and Mr. Zombie gets this position, there would only be one thing that would make me happier... A White Zombie reunion. (source - joblo.com)

EVIL DEAD (The Remake)

Everyone knows that Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell have been somewhat hard at work (aside from Spiderman III) with their brilliant (haha!) idea of remaking Sam's The Evil Dead. But they have been having trouble finding someone to direct. So I'd like to hear what you guys think? Despite from being 100% against this remake... I would have to say that Alexandre Aja would be the most fitting choice for the director's chair. You may know Aja by "High Tension (Haute Tension)" & "The Hills Have Eyes" remake. Evil Dead wasn't a comedy much like Evil Dead II & Army of Darkness... and that's my reason behind Aja. I think he has a great grasp on what gritty horror is all about. He doesn't fuck around & doesn't try to be overly artsy. And Evil Dead is anything but ARTSY. It's low budget splatter at it's finest hour. I think Aja would capture that beautifully. If they were remaking EDII or AOD, Eli Roth would be my go to guy. What do you guys think?
